Re: Charlie Chan, aside from the titles you mentioned, Adam, there was also a silent “Charlie Chan” serial, a silent “Charlie Chan” feature, and another being an early talkie. I have an old TV print, this from the early fifties, of “The Black Camel” (Fox; 1931). It subsequently disappeared, not even included in the comprehensive NTA TV prints released later, but finally reappeared when Fox restored it, even to replacing the original opening title card and credits. The film is of particular interest because it was the only one shot on location in Honolulu; featured both Bela Lugosi and Dwight Frye (each especially remembered in the same year’s “Dracula”); and represents Robert Young’s first movie.
