Is it just me, or was the character “Howard McNeil” intended to be an obvious imitation of Howard McNear? The words that issued from his mouth seemed to be specifically written for McNear, though the delivery was obviously very different.
Perhaps McNear was originally intended to have the role? Or maybe it was an homage to him (after all, Parley Baer was also in the cast).
