Listening to your discussion of Johnny’s sources of income, it occurred to me that you might have overlooked one. As you pointed out, by the time we get to the Bob Bailey era, Johnny appears to exist in the real world and his exploits form a weekly radio show. Presumably, Johnny should be receiving some kind of remuneration for the use of his stories, either as a writer on the show or as some kind of consultant.
