Under Arrest began as a summer replacement series for The Shadow in 1946 and 1947 starring Craig McDonnell as Captain as Police Captain John Drake. In 1948, a third summer replacement season began with Joe DeSantis playing Captain Jim Scott. The summer series concluded in September, and in November it returned and aired regularly on the Mutual Broadcasting System between 1948-54.
About the Star:
Joe DeSantis (1909-89): Joe DeSantis began his broadcasting career in 1931 on an Italian-language radio station. DeSantis had a rich career on radio, screen, stage, and television. DeSantis retired to Utah in 1978 where he focused on his sculpting.
