I expected the twist at the end of this episode with a soft, simmering dread, the kind of dread that makes you avert your eyes, stuff your hands in your pockets, and try to keep walking (Marlowe always puts me in the mood for simile and purple prose, please excuse the poor attempt). The last line still hit hard. Excellent episode, reveals a part of the dectective which he generally only hints at.
