Adam,
In the afterword to this episode, you discuss the trope of the nosy landlady/neighbor who provides information key to solving the case. She is, of course, a familiar character in may Old Time detective programs.
Commendian John Mulaney talks about certain individuals that you always see in an episode of “Law And Order”. One of these characters is “Guy Who Can’t Stop Unloading Crates While Talking to Homicide Detectives”. I mention this because Friday and his partner often encounter that guy’s grandfather, “Guy Who Can’t Stop Operating Loud Machinery While Talking To Homicide Detectives.”
