A solid and enjoyable episode in what seems to me to be an uneven series. In each Barrie Craig yarn, there appears to be a plot glitch wide enough to drive a Freightliner through. How, e.g., did the evil caretaker (female) have the opportunity to take a pot shot at Ruth in the city and then get back to Tower House in time to greet (sort of) Barrie and Ruth–we’ve already been told (by the murder victim) that the train is the fastest way there, and she (the caretaker) wasn’t on it? But all is redeemed by Betty Lou Geerson’s voice, the best female voice on radio. (For men? Gerald Mohr.)
