This episode seems very close to “The Rollins Case” from Richard Diamond earlier in 1951.

Avoided this show for a long time because it’s hard for me to like a person who goes around trying to keep insurance companies from paying out on their polices. Don’t insurance companies make enough money as it is? It’s a crooked racket that less and less people question as the decades go by. I’ve since realized it really is a good show. It’s well written, good production, fair incidental music, adequate sound effects. But Johnny Dollar is a dick. He’s working for the man. Johnny Dollar is the real criminal in my opinion. He has no morals. He has no code. He just gets off on ruining peoples lives while thinking he’s some kind of cool suave guy working for an evil insurance company. Johnny Dollar is an asshole. I would never be friends with him. He’s the last guy I’d ever want to have a drink with. He is certainly untrustworthy. He’d sell his own mother up the river if an insurance company told him to & he’d still think of himself as some kind of hero, which he is not. I do think it’s a good show; though, I can not listen to it every nigbt. It makes my skin crawl at times.
