    But as Samuel Rosenberg (author of Naked is the Best Disguise — Sherlock Holmes) said, “If a writer is suing another writer for plagiarism, it’s most likely that they both unwittingly stole the idea from an earlier source”.

    The root story is Joseph Conrad’s “Heart of Darkness”. Change Dollar and Tackitt to Marlowe and Kurtz, and Borneo to the Congo and it’s an exact match.
