Gargan’s the real deal. He carries himself with a easy confidence. He’s the kind of guy the women love, who outsmarts the criminals, and has something few possess quite like him: real charisma. You’d be hard pressed to find someone who looks more natural in a fedora. He’s the classic American detective.

Even in a fun B film such as this, he’s great to watch. Nothing overly fancy, just some great two-fisted investigative work. It’s interesting to note that even though he plays a reporter, and not a detective by trade, he is a detective through and through by action.
