Your podcast is one of the best parts of my day. In the past, I have written to you to comment on Pat Novak and Let George Do It. I remain a big fan of both of those shows, but in recent weeks I’ve become convinced that the best of the bunch is Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. Frankly, I didn’t care much for the Charles Russell shows, but after Edmund O’Brien inherited the action-packed expense account, my interest went into overdrive. O’Brien’s characterization is deeper, tougher and more emotionally fraught than Russell’s. In “The Dead First Helpers” O’Brien makes you feel Johnny’s growing outrage over the mistreatment of the steel workers. Pretty impressive stuff.
